Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of business intelligence in the relationship between strategic planning and risk management in improving performance and enhancing competitive advantage in the UAE energy sector, using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that strategic planning contributes positively to improved performance, though its direct impact on competitive advantage was not statistically significant. Risk management showed a direct negative impact on performance and competitive advantage when measured independently. Business intelligence demonstrated a direct positive impact on both performance and competitive advantage, and a significant moderating role in the relationship between risk management and performance enhancement.
