This study examines how green human resource management (GHRM) practices influence employee engagement in Malaysian public universities. Drawing on sustainability and organizational behavior perspectives, the research explores the role of eco-friendly recruitment, green training, and environmental performance appraisal in shaping employees' commitment and participation. Data were collected through a structured survey from academic and administrative staff across selected universities. The findings reveal that GHRM practices significantly enhance employee engagement, particularly when supported by strong institutional policies and leadership commitment. The study contributes to the growing literature on sustainable HRM in the higher education sector and provides practical insights for policymakers aiming to foster environmentally responsible academic institutions in Malaysia.
